Meet Dr. William Porzio

Dr. William Porzio is a Board-Certified Periodontist and Dental Implant Specialist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He brings a warm and personalized approach to patient care as our newest member of Bethesda Smiles. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA with a degree in Biochemistry. Dr. Porzio began his dental education at the UNC School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, NC where he discovered his love for community outreach. Serving as a coordinator for the Student Health Action Coalition, he embraced his passion for periodontal treatments. Dr. Porzio earned his Periodontal Certificate upon completion of his three-year periodontics residency at Virginia Commonwealth University, receiving extensive training in periodontal and dental implant surgery. His most recent accolade is becoming a certified Laser Assisted New Attachment Protocol (LANAP) provider. Dr. Porzio enjoys throwing dinner parties with his fiance, spending his time hiking, kayaking, and petting his three cats.
